Fat Urchin: A New Year, A New Neighbourhood Favourite

Fat Urchin settles into the Marina with good food, cold pints, and weekly antics.

Fat Urchin has officially splashed into Jolly Harbour and if you haven’t stopped by yet, consider this your nudge. Part mischievous public house, part coastal kitchen, and entirely its own thing, Fat Urchin brings a breezy marina vibe to the neighbourhood: cold pints, fresh plates, easy conversation, and the subtle feeling that you might stay longer than you meant to.

As we settle into our first season, here’s what to know:
The Public House pours from 11am–11pm on weekdays, serving drinks, good mood, and the kind of casual comfort food the marina has been begging for. Upstairs, the Coastal Kitchen opens for dinner from 6pm–9pm, offering a relaxed but elevated escape with waterfront charm. We’re closed on Mondays (even urchins need one day to recover).

While the team puts the final touches on the space, we’ve temporarily condensed our menu to the hits: crisp, golden fish and chips, cheeky pub classics, and a lineup of plates that pair beautifully with a pint, a Negroni, or a sunset you weren’t expecting to stay for.

Weekends come with personality, especially Saturdays, when The Big Sing: Karaoke Night takes over the pub from 7pm–10pm. It’s loud, it’s fun, it’s slightly chaotic, everything a marina Saturday should be. Whether you’re here to sing or to spectate, you’ll fit right in.

So if you’re wandering the docks, hungry after a sail, curious about the new kid on the marina, or simply in the mood for a drink that turns into dinner, Fat Urchin is open, ready, and already finding its place in Jolly Harbour’s rhythm.

Come see what’s happening. Stay for a pint. Maybe stay longer.
